Paris Regional Health Earns Top Honors from Lifepoint Health
March 19, 2024
PARIS, Texas (March 1, 2024) – Paris Regional Health was honored by its parent company Lifepoint Health at an annual awards ceremony held in Dallas, Texas on February 27. The hospital received the 2023 Operations Excellence Award for the company’s western division of acute care facilities, and Chief Executive Officer Steve Hyde was recognized with a top leadership award.
The Lifepoint Health Operations Excellence Award recognizes outstanding overall performance across the company’s acute care, rehabilitation and behavioral health business sectors. The award is given to five facilities each year, including: one facility in each of the company’s three acute hospital operating divisions, one inpatient rehabilitation hospital and one behavioral health hospital. The award is given to exemplary facilities that have demonstrated a strong commitment to – and measurably improved – the following areas in the prior year:
- Quality improvement;
- Service line growth;
- Talent and workforce development and engagement;
- Expanding the facility’s leadership role in the community; and
- Financial performance.
The award was accepted by Paris Regional Health leaders Steve Hyde, Chief Operating Officer Scott Avery, Chief Financial Officer Donald McDaniel, Chief Medical Officer Amanda Green, MD, and Chief Nursing Officer Jayne Thomas, RN.
“Paris Regional Health is proud to receive this award, which highlights our entire team’s commitment to strengthening hospital operations, while advancing quality and healthcare delivery in Paris, Lamar County and the surrounding region,” said Hyde. “We are guided each and every day by our mission of making communities healthier, and we look forward to continuing this momentum into 2024 and beyond.”
In addition to the hospital award, Hyde was recognized with the Fleetwood Award, which is presented annually to a hospital leader who exemplifies the values and spirit of Lifepoint’s former chief executive officer, the late Jim Fleetwood. Fleetwood believed that operational excellence was defined by more than financial performance and that it was equally important to lead by example and inspire others to achieve their goals, even during challenging times. Hyde was recognized for embodying many of the admirable qualities that Fleetwood possessed, including a leadership style that emphasizes collaboration and upholds high standards; the desire and ability to build strong relationships with hospital employees and physicians; strength of judgment and character; and exemplary service to the community.
“Paris Regional Health has made great strides over the past year in delivering high quality patient care and meeting specific quality benchmarks, while also achieving significant volume growth across key service lines and being a strong community partner,” said Jason Zachariah, EVP and chief operating officer at Lifepoint Health. “Steve keeps Lifepoint’s mission, vision and values at the forefront, and his leadership has been at the heart of the hospital’s achievements. We are very proud to recognize the Paris team and Steve with these well-deserved awards.”
