2023 Community Benefit Report

(PARIS, TX – March 19, 2024) – Paris Regional Health today published its community benefit report for the 2023 calendar year. This annual report outlines the various ways the hospital is working to support the health and economic vitality of the Northeast Texas and Southeast Oklahoma as part of its mission of making communities healthier®.
“As a leading healthcare provider in Paris, Paris Regional Health is committed to providing high-quality care close to home, investing in our region’s overall well-being and making a positive impact on those we serve,” said Steve Hyde, chief executive officer (CEO) of Paris Regional Health. “This year’s report highlights our continued efforts to provide compassionate care – both inside and outside our hospital walls.”
Paris Regional Health’s 2023 community benefit report highlights its continued efforts to meet the growing healthcare needs of its community through welcoming new providers, adding and expanding service lines and continually investing in its facilities and healthcare technology. For example, in 2023, Paris Regional Health added 28 providers in anesthesiology, emergency and internal medicine, general surgery, pediatric, cardiology, psychology, neuropsychology and more; and made nearly $5.3 million in capital improvements, including a remodel of the CT scanner suite, the installation of a new GE HealthCare Revolution Maxima CT scanner, a replacement HVAC unit in the ICU and Emergency Department, and a variety of other facility improvement projects. Additionally, Paris Regional Health made a donation of more than $48.6 million in health services to those in need, demonstrating its continuous commitment to ensuring everyone has access to care, regardless of their ability to pay.
Paris Regional Health is also devoted to creating environments where providers want to practice and employees want to work. In 2023, the hospital distributed more than $63,680,906 to approximately in salaries, wages and benefits for its approximately 665 employees, while contributing $272,857 in professional development and tuition assistance so all its employees can have the opportunity to learn, grow and improve the care they provide their patients.
Last year, the organization paid $8.8 million in local and state taxes, while also continuing its support of local activities and organizations committed to serving the region, including CASA for Kids, Children’s Advocacy Center, CitySquare – Paris, Kiwanis Club of Paris, Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, Lamar County Human Resources Council, NAACP - Paris Chapter, Paris Main Street, Paris Optimist Club, Paris Soccer Association, Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society, Red River Valley Fair Association, St. Joseph’s Community Foundation, United Way of Lamar County, YoungLife, all Lamar County School Districts, Paris Junior College and many more.
